Motorola Shows ROKR E8 with Morphing Keypad
July 31, 2008 by admin
Motorola announced the latest ROKR handset, the E8. This music-centric handset features a unique ModeShift button that offers one-touch switching between phone, music player, and digital camera modes. The phone’s touch-sensitive keypad morphs to offer task-relevant buttons, and has localized haptic feedback so that users can ‘feel’ the touch sensitive buttons move, even though they are simply pressing on a piece of immovable glass. The E8 also has a touch sensitive speed scroll wheel that makes scrolling through longs lists of music tracks a breeze.
The ROKR E8 also features a 2 megapixel camera and 2GB of internal memory in addition to a microSD card slot for expanded memory. The 2″ QVGA display is set in landscape mode for wide screen viewing. Enjoying your music is easy with the 3.5mm audio jack or Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support for stereo headsets. The E8 is globally connected, thanks to the quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz).
The ROKR E8 is set to be available in Q1 2008, though pricing has not been revealed.
